Social Media Getting Dumbed-Down by “RSS Ricochet”

I don’t get it.

If you can update everything from everywhere, what is the point of having multiple lifestreaming tools? I feel like lifestreaming and social media are going through the same metamorphosis that AT&T did with the Baby Bells back in the 80s. Bell got endlessly subdivided like a loft condo, then slowly morphed back together into – you know it – AT&T.

Is FriendFeed Breaking Up With Us?

I know it’s over.

I mean not “over-over” but, you know they don’t post like they used to. They have no desire to keep the relationship fresh and new. Oh they tell you they’ll call, write, take you to new places. That they’ll upgrade and change. But they don’t. Ever since that slick-talking, young rich kid Facebook came around and whispered sweet nothings of venture capital in their ear, things haven’t been the same between us.
